The Presbyteries of Grand Canyon and de Cristo are hereby called to meet on Saturday, May 6, 2023 at Gilbert Presbyterian Church in Gilbert with the Call to Order scheduled for 9:00 a.m.  Registration will begin at 8:30 a.m.  A light lunch will be provided by the church..  The cost of the meal is $12.00.  If paying by check make check out to Gilbert Presbyterian Church.

There is a zoom option for those unable to attend in person at Gilbert. To be able to attend the Zoom meeting option, you must contact the Stated Clerk by email ( pbyclerk@gmail.com ) to register and receive the log on information for the Zoom option. In the email request if you are a commissioner to the Presbytery, please include the name of the church you will be representing. These requests must be received before 5:00 pm on May 3 to be able to use the zoom option. No requests will be accepted after this date and time.

 

Ruling Elder Commissioner representation numbers for each congregation are based on the latest report which is in effect for the remainder of 2023 and the first meeting of 2024. Church pastors and Clerks of Session have been contacted with changes from the last report have been contacted.

Worship Service Offering is dedicated to Hunger Relief.  If you are writing a check for the offering, please make the check out to Presbytery of Grand Canyon and in the memo line of the check write Hunger Relief. The offering will be split between WHEAT (Grand Canyon) and Seeds of Hope (de Cristo). Thank you for your cooperation.

 

The main items of business are:

·      Conduct normal business required for stated meetings.

·      Participate in Worship and Communion

·      Preacher will be Lemuel Garcia from Presbyterian Mission Agency

·      Hunger Action Speakers from WHEAT and Seeds of Hope

·      Recognition of Rev. Diamond Pate membership in GC Presbytery as pastor at Flagstaff Federated Church

·      Preview of Big Event in August 2023

·      Opportunity for Synod of Southwest Commissioner Report

·      Opportunity for Montlure Report

·      Update on de Cristo YAV

·      Update on Grand Canyon mission trips

·      Examination for Candidate James Martin for Ordination in de Cristo

·      Examination for Inquirer Charles Gillette to be moved to Candidate in Grand Canyon

·      Election of Grand Canyon Synod Commissioner Nominee – RE Faye Gardner, University PC for 2024.

·      Acknowledge completion of Pastor Salary Survey data for 2022 and 2023.

·      Publishing the 2023-2024 Imbalance Reports.

·      Update on Directory 

·      Update on Session Minute Reviews

 

 

The complete packet will be posted for downloading on Friday, April 28, 2023 on the Presbytery website www.azpresbyteries.org  commissioners are responsible for printing their own materials.
