Human migration is at the highest levels in history, and is a worldwide phenomenon.  People are fleeing war and violence, religious and political persecution, gender-based discrimination and danger, and severe poverty exacerbated by climate change.  While by no means unique in facing large numbers of people seeking entry, we in the United States do have our own issues with immigration.  As Presbyterian Christians, following a Lord who was himself a migrant and a refugee, we bring to the conversation about migration/immigration our Biblical understanding of welcoming strangers, protecting the innocent, and caring for the poor, sick and those in prison.  On this Immigration section of the Peace and Justice Network page, we will be inviting and sharing articles about issues of migration/immigration, with special focus on policies and practices of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) and efforts of Presbyterians, along with ecumenical, interfaith, and community partners to respond to the needs of migrants who have arrived among us.  We will also be providing links to articles, stories, and resources for developing a deeper understanding of the human realities faced by many migrants and by people seeking to provide ministry and service with and for them.  We invite you to share your thoughts and suggestions of resources by sending things to us via email.
