Domestic violence occurs when a person feels they have the right to control another person through threats or actual violence. It may come from generational family abuse, religious beliefs or simple opportunity, and agencies may contribute to the harm. Violence occurs against persons of any age, with children and the elderly being most vulnerable. Workshops are available which cover all types of abuse, with an emphasis on religious responses to battering.
